new velvet year

December 27, 2017 Julie Sharikov

The last and first party of the year is coming up soon. Hair done, face prepped, dress on - we are ready to stay up all night long! This New Years party, I will be wearing the texture that I admittedly grew in connection with throughout the past year. The soft, fine, deep texture of velvet immediately drew my attention.

I was always intrigued by the quality of the fabric. It begs for second glances. I admire the way that velvet enriches the color of the piece. I also love the timeless appearance that velvet has portrayed throughout the years. For instance, the black midi dress that I am wearing in the  photos most likely came from the 80’s. I snatched that vintage dress as soon as I laid my eyes on it. Although I had to moderately alternate the dress, this ten dollar investment is still my favorite thrift store find of the year.

If you appreciate a good deal as much as I do, then a thrift shop should be your next stop. Other girls might be willing to spend more money on a dress because it will last them a lifetime. I love that. Go and make history! Buy the dress today and it will be your personal vintage tomorrow.

During this upcoming party, you will spot me wearing my vintage dress with its own story. I AM willing to pass down the legacy.

Happy new year, sisters.
