What’s the best way to celebrate your 24th birthday?!
My ACTUAL birthday is on Thursday, the 1st. Since Thursday is kind of an awkward day of the week, we decided to celebrate "me" over the weekend. Memorial Day weekend happens to fall on the last weekend of May. Considering the "long weekend," we felt that it would be totally fitting for us to plan a mini getaway!
Teddy and I took a road trip to Wisconsin Dells for the first time. Our three and a half hour drive flew by and only felt like an easy-breezy three and a half minutes. Once we checked into our hotel, we instantly rushed to finally see our room in person. The beautiful reserved room included a king size bed and a whirlpool that could fit four people at once. A cute little backyard led straight to the parking lot, which turned out to be very convenient. The coziness that the lodge-themed resort brought definitely aroused the desire to stay in all evening. But the wild hearts in us couldn’t resist the outdoor pool. We explored the resort and searched for the biggest ride - the Drop Chute. One drop was enough for the evening because it was already getting dark and chilly.
We spent a cozy Sunday evening indoors.
Memorial Day has come!!! Sleeping in until 9 A.M. restored all of our energy stores. We slipped into our bathing suites and off we went to enjoy the thrill that only 8 water parks can bring.
Ahhh... the Wilderness Resort has all kinds of entertainment coupled with delicious, greasy, American food. I must confess that we did feel guilty after eating one pound of French fries.
Throughout this trip, Teddy and I went Live on Instagram a couple of times. I'm sorry, but I think our love for Instagram Live is growing with every time.
Expect to see more of us! HA HA HA! (evil laugh)
I SERIOUSLY can't imagine a better way to celebrate my 24th! My wonderful husband, a beautiful resort, and tons of chlorine - it was a perfect blend of staying young while "adulting."
As adults, we often forget to tap into our inner child because of the big responsibilities that are placed on us. When we start to take ourselves too seriously, we start missing out on life itself. Life consists of little details, unforgettable memories, and cheerful hearts. To live a happy life, you need to have peace with God and peace with the world around you. Those mini mosquito battles are no fun! Of course, I can't skip the part where we pay bills, do chores, and visit appointments - otherwise, life would almost sound like a fairy tale. However, I believe that even adults can/should be ridiculously silly, at times.
Memories just don't happen! You need to fight for them and create them! Making time for the right people is what grants a pleasant life.
Spend as much time with your close ones as you would with food. Be kind. Be friendly. Be fun.
Stay young, stay wild, and stay free.
Young from wrinkles.
Wild for devotions.
And free from sinful chains.
Enjoy every breath and conjoin good energies.
Hope your summer is off to a good start!
