My sister, Natalie, and my brother, Igor, drove all the way from PA to MN to see Teddy and I. They all surprised me on Sunday after the morning service at the First Ukrainian Baptist church. I must say, that was one of my favorite surprises ever! During their short stay, we managed to show them around our city and experience our favorite local eat-outs. My siblings stayed with us in our little apartment for five days. Throughout those five days, they got to eat a lot of "Evreyskaya Kalbasa."
Last Friday, we said our goodbyes. Good-byes are not easy. I grew up with two sisters and a brother and we were always close. Now, we are going through a phase filled with big changes. These big changes are leaving us in different parts of the world. This means we are going to see each other less often.
The good news is that family isn't leaving forever.
It turns out that Igor found himself a job here in MN. With that said, he will be moving here. My sister, Tuna, and her fiance, Nick will be visiting us this summer. And since Natalie lives "only" 12 hours away, she can always plan a roadtrip with her husband.
My summer has a bright future. Since I will be seeing more of my siblings as it gets warmer outside, goofiness and laughter is guaranteed.
